Peterson, Liberty form Great Yarmouth decommissioning venture

Peterson and Liberty Industrial have formed an alliance that will grant Liberty exclusive use of the Peterson Great Yarmouth Outer Harbour yard facility in Norfolk, England.

This large Southern North Sea decommissioning project, which included direct load in via HLV, took place in Great Yarmouth. This project entailed 30 months of planning, 17,000 Peterson engineering hours, more than 10,000 Peterson manhours during operations, nine subcontractors and zero Peterson LTIs.

GREAT YARMOUTH, U.K. — Peterson and Liberty Industrial have formed an alliance that will grant Liberty exclusive use of the Peterson Great Yarmouth Outer Harbour yard facility in Norfolk, England.

They plan to use the yard for decommissioning of platform topsides, jackets and subsea equipment, with Liberty committed to recycle or repurpose at least 95% of all salvaged waste and material.

The Outer Harbour facility can accommodate offshore structures weighing up to 4,500 metric tons and other subsea materials, and it can handle multiple projects simultaneously.

Liberty plans to use the yard to support clients across Europe.
